CrossWind Alpacas farm is a family owned and operated business located in Northern Colorado, just Northeast of Nunn, about 45 miles North of Denver and a short drive from I-25. We were already animal lovers before we looked into raising alpacas and after reading everything we could about this business, we knew this is what we wanted to do and have never looked back. We were looking for a home-based business that we could run together, an excellent investment with handsome tax benefits and a lucrative business the whole family would enjoy. Since we owned a small farm and were already raising livestock, it was easy for us to start raising Alpacas. Its just like raising sheep but the fleece you get from them is far superior, and much rarer than the wool you get from sheep. More importantly, it is a renewable resource, you don't have to slaughter Alpacas to see an income, like you would cattle or pigs. We began by purchasing a few Alpacas and started breeding them for sale and for the fiber that comes in a variety of colors.. Since we already owned some land, we could also offer boarding to others that wanted Alpacas but did not have the area to keep them. We have been in the Alpaca business since 2005 and are members of The Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, Alpaca Registry Inc, and Alpaca Breeders of the Rockies. We offer premium bloodlines for breeding and also offer the finest in quality alpaca fiber (fleece).
